Welcome to our homepage
Thanks for visiting our home page. The banner photo you see on the heading is a sunrise taken from the balcony of our house. We do have a fabulous view out over the city and harbour which also takes in the city beaches of St Clair and St Kilda. We have lived here since we came to Dunedin 30 years ago.
Weather
The development of a wireless weather station by Ian to link
to the
computer has also been useful and of interest to quite a few people who now regularly check it out on the web page to see what is happening in Dunedin. When you click on the link you will see that the information is quite comprehensive (and accurate) and gives temperatures, humidity, wind direction and rainfall, not just for the day on which you are checking, but you can also view a monthly summary,
plus much more.
Dunedin
Dunedin is the second largest city in the South Island, with a population of about 120,000. It is an old established city, founded by Scottish settlers and many street names have been taken from Edinburgh, and in fact Dunedin is sometimes called 'The Edinburgh of the South'. The Dunedin City Council website is comprehensive and worth checking out. It has several webcam links which show various areas around the city, including The Octagon, the central focus of the CBD. Check that out as well as accommodation, sightseeing and other activities.
